Brad Hurley was born and raised in rural Tennessee by a single mother of three. He was kidnapped by his Masonic grandfather at a young age and visited every state in the US by the time he was five.

A self-taught musician and artist, he began doing art as a way to escape the dark and suffocating culture of rural poverty in Tennessee.

His water, spacey-patterned paintings reveal the beauty of nature and the mysteries of the universe and dissect the corruptions and illusions of the modern world. He recently moved to California to study art full time.
